Dealing Card Games A Winning Hand

One of the older, more traditional games that children play is the wide variety of card games that are available. Children used to be able to access card games simply because adults had playing cards, and some simple version so adult games were devised to allow younger children to join in. Those families that didn’t see cards as being ruinous to one’s fortunes saw them as being a cheap way of gathering the whole family around and having a good game. Some games relied entirely on luck, in which case children could compete on an entirely level playing field; other games relied on skill and knowledge, which were clearly more advanced for the children, but there were also varieties of games devised which mixed the two, so that whilst a degree of skill was required, or at least beneficial, there was also a degree of luck, and this could play in the children’s favour.

In addition to the normal standard packs of fifty two playing cards, comprised of the usual four suits of hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades, there were also children’s equivalents created. Some of the more basic ones simply took the idea of fifty two cards divided into four families, but instead of calling them after abstract symbols, named them after families, with recognisable surnames, thirteen within each family.

This took a further step and the game of Happy Families takes this idea into a complete character based game, and the images have always been created to appeal to children. The faces and names are all easily identifiable, and children see the people as being more relevant that the symbols.

Today there is an even wide range of playing cards styles, sets and games, from simple Snap games where the object is to match up pairs of cards as they are dealt, to Trump cards which are like collector’s packs, and allow children to use statistics that relate to either real items, such as planes or cars, or fictional characters’ abilities, and play against other children’s cards to determine who is more powerful. Trading cards have also become another popular spin-off today with children swapping and exchanging cards to build whole sets.

There are a variety of games on the market which now combine a deck of cards with a board game, Uno being one example which has been around for some time. The Uno cards are based on simple, easily recognizable symbols, with colours too, and the idea is to match up pairs, runs, sets or other scorable groups of cards and rid yourself of your hand to win.

Children enjoy card games not only because they are usually quick and simple to learn, easily portable, and have a simple appeal, but they are also reminiscent of the games their parents play, poker or bridge for example, and children like nothing better than copying or imitating the things their parents do.

Since most packs of cards or children’s card games cost little more than two or three pounds, they can prove far better value for money long term than some of the more obvious mainstream games for children.

Erotic Card Games – Shuffle Up Foreplay

Is great sex in the cards for you tonight? For many couples, foreplay is either non-existent or way too short. It is well known that extended foreplay makes for more intense orgasms. But, you may be spending less time playing together because sex seems mundane, boring, or routine. Here is your chance to get lucky and spice up your sex life with random acts of pleasure.

With a little creativity, you can turn a standard pack of cards into your personal deck of desire. Essentially any of your favorite games can be transformed into an erotic thriller by assigning intimate activities to the cards. You can assign sexy ideas to each suit, each rank or to individual cards. You can even assign intimate activities based on color and rank combinations. Or, face cards could be assigned erotic activities while numbered cards have none. Playing cards can be assigned sensual delights in many different ways to suit the type of games you have in mind.

When creating a foreplay card game variation from one of your own favorites, introduce a range of different intimate activities. Design them in a way that encourages you to sample various types and intensities of stimulation for a total sensual experience. Since you want to awaken all your erogenous zones, try to avoid excessive repetition of each type of foreplay activity. Write the activities down so you know what you are both playing for.

For shy or slightly inhibited lovers, enjoying a regular game together can help you both get into a playful mood. Prepare an inviting play area and atmosphere that suits the foreplay games you have in mind (a glowing fire, candles, wine, soft music, tasty treats, pillows, etc.). Then slyly introduce foreplay rewards and forfeits into the game. Include periodic clothing removal that fits the nature of your game. Being forced to strip adds to the excitement but rushing to get naked should not be your goal. Build the intensity by escalating to more explicit types of sensual intimacy as the foreplay games progress. For many card games, each hand is fairly quick so you could create multiple activity lists that progressively increase the levels of intimacy.

Some example erotic game ideas based on classic card games are described below:

Crazy Sex is an erotic adaptation of Crazy Eights with opportunities to play for what you really want: stripping, sensual foreplay and passionate sex. While trying to be the first to get rid of all the cards in your hand, receive sensual rewards corresponding to matched cards. Play to win four games scoring points as normal. Win a game to have your lover strip one article of clothing. Highest total score wins their sexual desire. Remember To Have Sex is an erotic adaptation of the Memory card game. Attempt to find matches by turning over only two cards at a time from a deck laid out randomly face down. Activities performed are determined by matching pairs of different colors. If a match is the same color keep the set but no activity is performed. The player with the highest number of matches wins a special sex play activity or fantasy. Incorporate stripping activities by using a joker or play multiple games with the loser of each round removing one article of clothing. Go Bleep Yourself is an erotic adaptation of the card game Go Fish for couples who enjoy intimate games. In this game you “Ask for Sex” activities by requesting matching cards. If your lover has what you are looking for you get it then and there. However, if you ask for something they can’t provide they get to tell you to Go Bleep Yourself. The player who makes the most successful sexual requests (matching pairs or cards) wins their favorite sex play activity or fantasy. Manic Mood Match is an erotic adaptation of Snap. It is a fast and easy card game where matching cards leads to stripping, sensual foreplay and passionate sex. In this game each card represents a foreplay activity you’re in the mood for. If your lover is also in the mood (a match), be the first one to Go For It and you receive the pleasuring and a set of cards. First player to win all the cards receives a special bonus sex play activity — what ever you are in the mood for.

Erotically spiced card games provide an easy, exciting and fun way to mix up your sex play. Use your deck of desire to randomize a variety of foreplay activities. And, even though you know the erotic possibilities at stake, not knowing exactly in what sequence or how often creates an element of delightful surprise. The competitive nature of the game combined with just the right amount of strategy helps build sexual tension and enhance your passion for each other. So, shuffle up foreplay and enjoy Amazing Sex!

How to Play Pai Gow Poker

Many casinos are aware of the popularity of poker. Unfortunately, poker is a game played against other players and not the House, so the casinos have little involvement in regular poker, other than to charge a rake (a percentage of each pot) for the use of the dealer and the table. To combine the elements of poker with those of typical table games played against the house, casinos have invented a number of poker variations that are played like traditional table games, player vs. the casino.

One such variation is Pai Gow. In Pai Gow Poker, after each player puts up a wager of their choosing they are dealt seven cards. Your objective is to make your best five-card and two-card poker hand. As a rule, your five card hand must be stronger than your two card hand. If you are dealt A, A, 9, 8, 7, 3, 3, you could not split your hands into 9, 8, 7, 3, 3 and AA. You could split them into A, A, 9, 8, 7 and 3, 3, or A, A, 3, 3, 7 and 9, 8. As long as your five-card hand beats the two-card hand, you can arrange them however you like. If you are not sure the optimal way to set your hand, you can ask the dealer to help you. There is one joker in the deck, which can be used in your hand to complete a straight or a flush, or as an Ace. The joker is not wild, you cannot use it to pair any card in your hand other than the Ace.

Once you have set your hand, the dealer also sets his hand. If both of your hands beat both of the dealer hands, you win an amount equal to your initial bet. If both of the dealers’ hands beat both of yours, you lose your bet. If one hand wins and the other loses, it’s a tie and no one wins. The House gets its edge by charging a five percent commission on winning bets.

In Pai Gow you also have the option of being the “Banker”. If you choose to be the Banker, you put up a sum of money to cover (or “Bank”) all of the bets on the table (if the amount you put up is not enough, the House will pick up where you left off). If you are the Banker, you play against all Players. Your five percent commission is calculated after all wins and losses are tabulated. Being the Banker affords a very slight edge because if your hands “copy” (are exactly the same) a Player’s hand, you win.

Pai Gow is an interesting variation of poker and one you might consider if you like poker but are looking for a more traditional casino game than regular poker, or just one that provides an added dimension to the game. You can find Pai Gow at certain online casino sites and in any live casino.

Poker Hands Ranked – Order of Winning Hands in Poker

Correctly understanding the rank of poker hands is a vitally important skill in all forms of poker. Once you have mastered the rank of poker hands you will be able to begin the journey towards becoming a profitable poker player – whether you play in a home poker game, casino or online.

Poker Hands Ranked below are in order from the strongest to the weakest.

Royal Flush

The royal flush is the strongest poker hand possible, this is the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten all of the same suit. This is essentially a ‘Straight Flush’ with the highest possible cards.

Straight Flush

A straight flush is any straight that is all of the same suit. The highest straight flush is the Royal Flush as outlined above, Ace-2-3-4-5 of the same suit is the lowest possible straight flush.

4 of a kind (Quads)

Next in the poker hand rankings comes 4 of a kind. This is only beaten by a straight flush. 4 aces is the highest 4 of a kind hand.

Full House

A Full House is a hand that contains 3 of one type of card and 2 of another. For example K-K-K-4-4 is a full house known as ‘Kings Full of 4’s”. Where there are 2 full house hands make the hand with the highest card making the 3 component will win. For example 7-7-7-3-3 would beat 5-5-5-K-K

The Flush

A flush is made up of 5 cards of the same suit and will beat all the hands below. In the event of two players making a flush the one with the highest single card is the winner. For example if player 1 has 6-9-10-J-K of one suit he would lose to a player with 3-4-7-8-A of one suit – the ace high flush beating the K high flush regardless of the rank of the remaining cards.

The Straight

A straight is 5 cards in order, for example 5-6-7-8-9 regardless of suits. Aces can make low or high straights (A-2-3-4-5 or 10-J-Q-K-A). Straights do not wrap around from high to low, for example Q-K-A-2-3 is not a straight!

3 of a kind (Trips)

Any 3 of the same cards are known as trips. Where 2 players end up with the same trips the rank if the remaining cards is taken into account. For example if both players end up with 9-9-9 but one holds an Ace while the highest card the other holds is a ten then the player with 9-9-9-X-A would win the hand.

2 pairs

2 pair hands are fairly low in the poker hand ranking chart and are beaten by all of the hands mentioned above. Again when 2 players have the same 2 pairs the one with the higher unpaired card will win the hand. In a game with community cards such as texas Holdem the highest card may already be on the board leading to a split pot. Remember to compare the best 5-card hands in this situation.

1 Pair

Single pairs are near the bottom of poker hand rankings – as with 2 pair and trips hands kickers (highest unpaired cards) may come into play where 2 or more players hold the same pair.

High Card Only

In the unusual event of reaching a showdown with no players holding any of the hands above the highest card wins. If (for example) both players hold an Ace then the next highest card is taken into account. Once again remember that in community card games such as holdem the best 5 card hand wins – for example if the board were 7-8-9-K-A and both players held just Queen-high then the pot would be split if both players other card was 9 or below.

Yugioh Trading Cards – The Yugioh Collectible Card Game

First published in 1996, Yugioh is a collectible card game that is a bit complex to play. Individual players or teams are entitled to handle a number of trading cards and dozens of decks. Each card boasts either a good or a bad imaginary character, which originally is taken from the Yugioh anime series. The characters can be imaginary beasts, or dragons, and the players need to use their magical powers to summon these creatures. Because of the many different Yugioh trading cards available, players can really customize their game and play creatures of a variety of natures, be it weak or powerful.

The Yugioh trading cards are grouped into three. There include the starter decks, structure decks, and the booster packs. The booster cards are what players use primarily for card distribution. For instance, in Konami’s case, the booster pack is consists of five random cards. Each set is composed of fifty to sixty cards of different faces. In areas where Upper Deck cards are sold though, the booster packs are composed of nine cards that are randomly assorted. The whole set contains a couple or a number of cards that are combined as one. Regardless of distributor though, booster packs often contain larger amounts of card pieces and are frequently reissued or reprinted.

The Starter decks of Yugioh trading cards are made for beginners to use. The mechanics of the game and its basic game play revolve around the use of these cards. Just like the booster packs, these too feature a variety of different imaginary characters, but all are patterned from the ones seen in the second anime series. Each deck contains cards from forty to fifty pieces, a rulebook, and a game mat. If you are playing with the United States-made starter deck, you’ll have seven decks available, including the Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Pegasus, Yugioh!, Jaden Yuki, and Syrus Truesdale.

The Structure Decks, finally, are made for the advanced players to employ. The Yugioh trading cards contained by this set are made to put emphasis on a particular strategy. Since they are made for the advanced players, the individual cards are more powerful and often come in combos. Each of the structure decks holds 40 cards, aside from a rule book, a game mat, and a small leaflet that highlights recommendations or suggestions on how to improve the value of the deck. In addition, the Yugioh structure decks are made in accordance to the standards maintained by the Advanced-Format Forbidden Card list.

The Yugioh trading cards further evolve to contain several other decks to be used for the game play. There are the evolution starter decks, which have been developed and released to boast cards of slightly different features. Other than that, there are the type and character structure decks, which also are composed of cards of different faces. Whatever type of Yugioh trading cards you get, each of them serves a purpose unique from any other.

Paper Or Plastic Poker Cards?

If you’re just starting out playing poker, one of the first things you’ll need to buy are a few decks of cards. Not all decks are created equal, though, and there are a few things to learn about the kinds of cards before you shuffle up and deal. Paper or plastic poker cards? This is your most important decision when choosing a deck of cards. Using plastic poker cards is a good and relatively inexpensive way to start. Not only do plastic playing cards enhance the playing experience, they are actually more cost effective than using regular paper playing cards!

While paper cards do an adequate job, they are easily soiled by dirty fingers, can be creased or bent, and last for only a night or two. Plastic cards, on the other hand, are much more durable, are easily cleaned, retain their shape better, and are harder to mark or crease. There are actually three different kinds of materials playing cards are made of: plastic, vinyl, and paper. Plastic cards are the most durable, highest quality cards and are used in almost all casinos. Vinyl cards are a good, slightly cheaper choice, though they will bend and won’t last as long as the 100% plastic cards. Paper is the cheapest and least durable – the corners will fold, and you’ll have to get new ones often. But in a pinch, paper cards are better than none.

However, Paper cards are infamous for not holding their shape – whether from a thousand shuffles (they start to “bow” upwards) or from players lifting up a corner to read their hole cards. Plastic poker cards, in comparison, are easier to bend (not as stiff as paper cards) and maintain their flatness better. Also, Plastic cards stay cleaner, are easier to shuffle and have a better snap back to them.

If your home game is like mine, then there will be the often drink spilled incident during the course of the night. Unfortunately, paper cards must be discarded after they get wet. On the other hand, a quick wipe of a towel and the plastic cards are good as new. Even without any spilled drinks, plastic cards can be returned to their sealed box glory with some cold water and a damp sponge. Imagine playing every game with clean and shiny cards.

For convenience sake, paper playing cards can’t be beat. Need a deck? Just run to the nearest supermarket or your local Walgreens for a deck. But if you want a cards that will last 2-3 years of weekly use, then you’re looking for a quality deck of plastic poker cards.

In a recent poll at a Worldwide Poker Community, 59% of people who play poker at home use plastic poker cards.
